American Idol Burn Out

Well American Idol has just about pushed me off the sofa with the Beetles Music.  My wife and I have rushed home in the evening to vege out on the sofa for the last six years to watch for some sign of talent in the group of hopefuls for chance to be the "forgotten in a year" American Idol.

I can sum this year up in two words for American Idol.  "Beetles Suck"!  You have to feel sorry for those kids that have never heard of the "British Invasion of the Sixties".  Some of them have singing talent, and all of them know more about keeping in tune than the Beetles ever thought about doing.  In my opinion, and it only counts in my blog I know, Simon should try and get his money back Michael Jackson for the Beetle's music.  It has caused good singing talent to look bad, as far as the top 12 on American Idol are concerned.  I can just see those kids picking out the music, and coming across Eight Days A Week.  You know they are trying to be nice and have a smile on the outside, while holding back the lunch they just ate.  I surely hope none of them pull the "I Want to Hold Your Hand."  Now that I think of the Beetles themselves may have had some singing talent hidden behind some of those songs.  Just a thought.

Last night, one of the better male singers lost his concentration on one of those songs that you can never remember the title anyway, and, probably, was thinking how he had also lost his lunch when he pulled the song choice.  You know the little guy to which I'm referring  Nevertheless, I just think its ashame that good talent is wasted on the Beetle's songs.  And I know that good singers should be able to sing anything, but not when you are still knocking on the door of being a professional singer.  American Idol will be dropping in ratings this week if the Beetles music is revisited again, and it will be, unless Paul McCartney can persuade them to let him buy the music copyrights back as he should.

Internet Scams

I know you have all heard about the various scams that reach us over the internet, and you would think that once enough. That no intelligent creature is going to fall for it again.  But we do, and I guess, we are all looking for our ship to come in, and that it will arrive over the internet.  The fact of the matter is this.  "If it sounds to good to be true. It probably is."  How many times have you heard that?

This past week, I was apprised of the fact that one of my customers received an email stating that the Buyer (Scammer) wanted to purchase the customer's car, and that the price that he was asking was more than fair.  The Buyer went on to state, that he lived in Greece and that his shipper was in New Jersey.  Buyer would send a cashiers check for 7000.00 dollars over the amount of purchase and the shipper would collect the over amount at the time of pick up. Thus, shipping would then be paid by the over amount.  This happened to not one but two of my customers in the same week.  Needless to say, Both were cautious in dealing with "Scammers" like this, but how many people are taken in by this kind of deceit everyday?

I know that you are aware of dumb scams like this and no need to worry, but I just thought it would behove us all to read it again.  However, There is a story written by a CBS journalist about a couple who was taken in by a scam similar to the previous mentioned story.  It just goes to show that we can never be too informed.  Fred at CarWorldConnect.com

Cadilac Blast the NAZIS in 1943
 REMEMBER THE LITTLE NASH?

CADILAC BLAST THE NAZIS IN 1943

The Cadillac, known for it’s luxurious ride and comfort for the upper crust of American consumers, and still so to this day, went to war against Hitler’s Panzer divisions in World War II. It made it’s impression on the Nazi war machine, but not in the same manner as the American Cadillac owner at home.
In 1942, the Cadillac Motor Car Division and US Army Engineers, joined forces in developing the M-5. The result was a highly maneuverable, high speed M-5 Tank, with a liquid cooled aircraft engine. Although it’s armor did not match the Nazi Mark IV tank, it did become a formidable foe to the German Panzer group won many of it’s battles by out maneuvering adversaries with good ole Yankee know how.The planning stages between Cadillac and the US Army were so top secret during research, that not all Cadillac divisions new of it’s existence until it had been introduced into battle against the Nazi tanks. Unlike Hitler, the Cadillac survived the agonies of war and proudly earned its place in the silent halls of war heroes. The next time you take a ride in your shinney new Caddy, or you see someone cruising by in one, you might think about what helped to make this Country the great place it is today.
Let’s not forget the real heroes of any war though, and keep in mind, that those who served and those who fought and died for our great country are the real heroes.
