ARE YOU F**KING SCARED YET???!? DELETING the INTERNET... and paying y
Ever seen that ad for "Web 2.0"? Ever wondered exactly what in the hell they were talking about? Well, this is it. Web 2.0 = delete the internet. All of it.
First of all, the internet is very important in many people's lives (such as: preventing them from suicide), and some people cannot just 'get along without the internet' anymore then they can 'get along' without a paycheck. Second of all, the problem that is scary is not the fact the internet will be shut down... it is censorship, and control. In other words, communism. No citizen has voted to shut down the world wide web, nor has it caused any countries to be bombed, etc. It is no more harmful then a Game Boy or a book... which are also likely to be taken away from us if the internet is first.
You are absolutely right. If they shut down the internet or restrict us from getting into sites, I'll be doomed! The internet for me has made me make good friends around all corners of the planet. As I was redundent due to company restructuring, the internet is the only source for me to make contact with the whole world. I hope that this is a BIG JOKE or if it's true, hoping they will re-consider if they don't want to see the death roll rise!
I doubt this will really happen...I would hope not anyway. But that is the way it usually is, whenever there's a way figured out to charge people for something they used to get for free or cheap - it catches on pretty quick. Just try finding a gas station that still offers a free air compressor to pump up your tires with wthout feeding it quarters for a minute or so of time...used to be that almost every station offered free air. Small scale example, but you get the point. I'd like to think they could never reallly eliminate 'free' internet though, since there would certainly always be an 'underground' version of it that could never be totally stopped. But that wouldn't be nearly as fun as this. lol
That's why I'm posting this. This communism and censorship they have planned is a BIG DEAL. They don't like what Ron Paul was able to do, and the internet helped him. Comcast has already started blocking domains without it's users' consent. Microsoft had to pay $12 to Opera because they had blocked browsers that they did not own from using their site. Someoned NEEDS to get the works in for an 'underground' internet... but it doesn't actually have to be 'underground' because they're not making it illegal. It just has to be privately run. Otherwise all of our blogs and earned money will be DELETED. But, I don't know how to do this, so maybe someone who catches on, will start one.
Under ground internet would be labeled as an 'illegal terrorist tool'...if this happens then be prepared for your front door to knocked on or KICKED in.
As someone who works in the tech field I can assure you that at least some of what is in that video is being misreported. For example where it talks about e-mail stamps. That was originally an optional part of SenderID which Microsoft developed. They have since released SenderID in full under a royalty free specification. As to the 'cable TV' model well all I can do is look at the latest FCC ruling where they ruled that Comcast had violated 'federal principles of network neutrality.' If the style of the internet changes it will be to one of two things. The plan several ISPs prefer is a pay by the bit plan. Essentially you'll have so much bandwidth you can use. If you go over that you'll pay an overage charge. Think cell phone plan. The other option is where you pay for a SLA (Service Level Agreement) and will get a certain minimum speed all the time. The more you pay the higher the speed. Outside of premium times you may get faster.
Yes, both of those thing were mentioned.... by the way unless you OWN Comcast working in the tech industry doesn't help. They won't tell some lowly $200,000/year-making IT analyst! Nope, you have to be a part of the 'big money club'; that is, the milliojnaire club who even still values money over people's lives. As I said I don't know where that document came from, but the person obviously didn't type it themselves. HOWEVER I am sure I could post to the Rainbow groups and get a source or three within a few hours. If you see my other blog about grass regulation in Ohio... well, that's Ohio, but still.
As for the types of service you metioned, that IS part of the probelm. Cities such as New York are trying to make the whole internet FREE! That is, wireless is available anywhere, but people would still pay for it because wireless is a lot slower then 200mbps wired nets. Paying per BIT is ridiculous, that's like $500 to be online for one hour if it's 1 cent per bit.
But as you can see, such ridiculous restrictions on internet use IS part of what they were talking about... the things you mentioned were IN THE BILL, which validates it rather then proves it wrong. As for the e-mail stamp, you just proved them right again... they never said that the e-mail stamp had previously been put into place.
