| "Letter to Women" - John Paul II, 1995 |
| Yesterday I watched a DVD "Credo" featuring the late Pope John Paul II. It's a musical DVD of Andrea Bocelli, launched by SUGAR. My heart was entouched when my eyes were on a certain scene. It's subtitling a transcr i ption of John Paul II's "Letter to Women", 1995, in English version. Then I wrote them down and now I'm sharing it with you:
"Thanks to you, woman-mother, for making yourself the womb of the human being.
Thanks to you, woman-bride, for irrevocably sharing your doom with that of your man.
Thanks to you, woman-daughter and woman-sister, for bringing into the family nucleus and then into the whole of social life the richness of your sensibility and your insight.
Thanks to you, woman-worker, engaged in every aspect of life, in the societies, in the economies, in culture, arts and politics as well, and for your contribution in working out a culture capable of mixing sense and sensibility and in conceiving life as always open to a sense of "mystery".
Thanks to you, consecrated woman. Thanks to you for the simple fact of being woman!"
From John Paul II's "Letter to Woman", 1995
