| Internet Scams |

I know you have all heard about the various scams that reach us over the internet, and you would think that once enough. That no intelligent creature is going to fall for it again. But we do, and I guess, we are all looking for our ship to come in, and that it will arrive over the internet. The fact of the matter is this. "If it sounds to good to be true. It probably is." How many times have you heard that?
This past week, I was apprised of the fact that one of my customers received an email stating that the Buyer (Scammer) wanted to purchase the customer's car, and that the price that he was asking was more than fair. The Buyer went on to state, that he lived in Greece and that his shipper was in New Jersey. Buyer would send a cashiers check for 7000.00 dollars over the amount of purchase and the shipper would collect the over amount at the time of pick up. Thus, shipping would then be paid by the over amount. This happened to not one but two of my customers in the same week. Needless to say, Both were cautious in dealing with "Scammers" like this, but how many people are taken in by this kind of deceit everyday?
I know that you are aware of dumb scams like this and no need to worry, but I just thought it would behove us all to read it again. However, There is a story written by a CBS journalist about a couple who was taken in by a scam similar to the previous mentioned story. It just goes to show that we can never be too informed.
