The Big Picture
2 0 0 1 It’s the first year of the new millennium. Enron executives get bonus checks for millions of dollars, a scandal that will directly Impact Richard La Bianco, who forms Wildon Ash the same year. It is the year he begins a new life, which is all about words. Over the next few years, La Bianco’s life fill will hundreds of pages of words, and a CD with 70 minutes of music.
2 0 0 7 La Bianco pays off his debt to society. He recruits guitar prodigy Ron Adams to produce Wildon Ash’s first album demo. Adams ends up joining the group and forging a rock solid foundation of guitar rhythm and riffs. It is a perfect surface for the traction of La Bianco’s voice. The album is recorded at L.A.’s magical Rumbo Studios (Guns & Roses , Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mack, Motley Crüe), with the wizardry of drummer Harvey Mason and bassist Chuck Rainey.
As CDs roll off the assembly line of a Bakersfield clean room, Wildon Ash books more and more gigs in L.A., the quartet’s official turf.
About Richard La Bianco
"I grew up in Corona Del Mar, a very Republican area of Orange County, California. I played with a band in high school: we’d jam at parties, and hung out with Marc McGrath (of Sugar Ray). I started writing songs as a teenager. My passions were music and English, and I wanted to combine both into a career. I enrolled at the University of Colorado at Boulder, majoring in English with a minor in music. I returned to California and attended Pepperdine University to study business.” But around this time, his father’s business hit some hard times, and Richard dropped out to help him. “We moved from an affluent, ocean-front community to a working class neighborhood, where I rode my bike to work. I got into finance for a couple years, learning enough to open my own company, Paramount Pacific. We financed companies that needed to purchase equipment.
